Privacy Policy

This page sets out the way Melbourne Implant Dentist — operating through Grey Street Dentist (St Kilda) and Synergy Dental Group (Parkdale) — gathers, uses, holds and safeguards your personal information, consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and Victorian health records legislation.

Last updated: August 2026

What we collect

Delivering dental care safely means we hold personal details about you — your name and contact information, your date of birth, Medicare and health fund membership, emergency contacts, and how you pay.

Health information forms part of your record too: medical and dental history, the medications you take, allergies, clinical notes, photographs, radiographs and scans (CBCT 3D imaging included), referral letters and correspondence with specialists. We depend on this material — treating you safely may not be possible without it.

How your information reaches us

Most of it comes straight from you: via the booking and enquiry forms on this site, by phone, face to face at our practices, and across the course of your treatment. Where you give consent, information may also come to us from specialists, other treating practitioners, Medicare or your health fund.

Details entered into one of this site's enquiry forms (the 'Check your suitability' form, for example) are used to respond to your enquiry and to organise your consultation.

What we use it for

We use what we hold to deliver and coordinate your dental care, keep you informed about treatment and appointments, handle health fund claims and payments, prepare documents you ask us for (for example, reports that support an application for early release of superannuation), and satisfy our legal and professional record-keeping duties.

Where you agree, we may also send appointment reminders, recall notices and news from the practice. Non-essential communications can be switched off whenever you choose.

Who we share it with

Disclosure happens only where your care calls for it or the law demands it: to the specialists and other health practitioners taking part in your treatment, to dental laboratories and radiology providers, to Medicare, your health fund or the ATO (for instance, to support an application you have initiated for compassionate release of super), to the secure IT and practice-software providers we rely on, and wherever a legal or professional obligation applies.

Your personal information is never sold — to anyone.

How records are stored and protected

Your records sit within secure, access-controlled practice management systems that Grey Street Dentist and Synergy Dental Group operate. Reasonable steps guard that information against misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — among them confidentiality obligations on staff, controlled system access and secure backups.

Cookies, analytics and this website

Cookies and analytics tools may run on this website so we can see how visitors use it and where it could be better. That data is aggregated and cannot identify you personally. Services embedded on the site (Google Maps, for instance) may gather data under their own privacy policies.

Seeing and correcting your records

You are entitled to ask for the personal information held about you, and to have it corrected where it is out of date or inaccurate. Simply contact the practice where you are a patient and we will reply within a reasonable period. In limited situations the law allows access to be refused — should that occur, we will tell you the reason.

Questions and complaints

Should anything about the handling of your information concern you, please raise it with us first so we have the chance to put it right: Grey Street Dentist, Suite S2/18 Grey Street, St Kilda VIC 3182, (03) 9534 4017 — or Synergy Dental Group, 100 Lower Dandenong Rd, Parkdale VIC 3195, (03) 7036 6855.

If our response leaves you unsatisfied, the matter can be taken to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or to the Health Complaints Commissioner (Victoria).
